Preventive & Hygiene Care

Cleanings and exams, periodontal deep cleaning, fluoride, sealants, night guards and oral cancer screening — for the whole family.

Every six months

The appointment that prevents the others

Almost everything else on this site exists because something was caught late. Regular cleanings and exams are dull by design — they are how a small filling stays a small filling instead of becoming a crown or a root canal.

If it has been years

That is a normal way to arrive here and nobody will remark on it. Tell us when you book, and the appointment is scheduled with more time so nothing is rushed.

Screening you may not notice happening

Oral cancer screening is part of the exam. It takes moments, it is not billed as a separate event, and it is the sort of thing that only matters once.

Questions
How often should I come in?
Every six months suits most people. If you have gum disease, grind your teeth, or have a history of decay, the hygienist may recommend a shorter interval — it is based on your mouth, not a rule.
What is a deep cleaning?
Scaling and root planing — cleaning below the gum line where a standard cleaning does not reach. It is recommended when there is periodontal pocketing, and it is what stops gum disease from costing you teeth.
