A practice that plans
before it treats
Merola Dental Center is led by Dr. Alfonso J. Merola IV, DDS, who has practised in Central New York for fifteen years. The practice is unusual for the area in one specific way: it operates its own dental ceramics laboratory on site.
That changes the sequence of a case. Shade is matched with you present rather than from a photograph, corrections take hours instead of weeks, and the person making your porcelain has actually seen your face.
About the practiceComprehensive care,
under one roof
Not a longer equipment list — a different sequence. Planning happens first, and the porcelain is made in this building.
Our own ceramics laboratory
Most practices ship veneer and crown work to a technician in another city who never meets you. Ours is down the hall — shade matched with you in the room, adjustments the same day.
Crowns in a single visit
CEREC Primescan scanning and in-house milling mean many crowns are designed, made, and permanently seated before you leave. No temporary, no second trip.
The Smile Design Studio
Veneer cases are planned digitally and previewed as temporaries you actually wear, so the final porcelain is approved before it is ever permanent.
3D planning before surgery
CBCT cone-beam imaging maps bone and nerve position in three dimensions, so implant placement is planned precisely rather than estimated.
Sedation for anxious patients
If you have been avoiding the dentist for years, that is a normal way to arrive here. Appointments are unhurried and sedation options are available.
Dentistry and skincare in one place
Merola Aesthetics runs from the same building — IPL photofacials, RF microneedling, peels and TMJ therapy alongside your dental care.
You approve the smile
before it is permanent
This is the part most practices skip. A veneer case here is planned, previewed, worn, and refined before a single final restoration is made — which is why the result rarely surprises anyone.

We fire our own
porcelain
Nearly every dental practice sends crown and veneer work to an outside laboratory — a technician in another city who never meets the patient, matching shade from a photograph.
Ours is on site. You and the ceramist are in the same building on the same day, which is why shade corrections take hours instead of weeks.
